So, I wanted a better way to keep track of sneaker releases, you know, the kicks I was after. Twitter seemed like the place, everyone’s on there shouting about drops.

First thing I did, obviously, was just search. Typed in stuff like “Jordan release”, “new Yeezy”, “sneaker drop dates”. Man, what a mess. Got a ton of junk, old posts, people just chatting, loads of scammy looking things too. Not really helpful, took ages to sift through.
Finding the good stuff
Realized quick that just searching wasn’t gonna cut it. Needed to find the right accounts to follow. The ones that actually post legit info, fast. So, I started looking around. Checked who the big brands were talking to. Looked at profiles people recommended in forums, that kinda thing. Took a bit of trial and error.
- Followed some big sneaker news sites’ accounts.
- Found a few of those ‘alert’ accounts, the bot-like ones that post links super fast.
- Added some well-known collector profiles too.
Following them helped. My main feed started getting better, more sneaker stuff showing up. But still, it was mixed in with all the other random junk I follow. Still easy to miss things.
Making it actually work for me
Then I remembered Twitter Lists. Hadn’t used them much before. So, I made a new private list. Called it something simple like ‘Kicks Feed’.
Then, I went through all those good accounts I’d found and just added them to that list. This was the game changer, really. Now, I can just click on that list and see only tweets from those specific accounts. No other noise. Just release info, restock alerts, stuff like that. Much, much cleaner.

I also messed around with notifications. For a couple of the super important alert accounts, the ones that post buy links the second they drop, I turned on notifications. So my phone pings right away. Gotta be fast for some of these drops, you know.
Still use search sometimes, especially if I’m looking for a very specific shoe or size. Like “[Shoe Model] size 11 restock”. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. Hashtags too, like #sneakernews or #KicksOnFire. Hit or miss, honestly. Some are useful, some are just full of random posts.
So yeah, that’s basically my setup now. Took a bit of fiddling. It’s not perfect, still gotta tweak the list sometimes, maybe add new accounts or remove ones that get spammy. But using that dedicated List makes finding kicks on Twitter way less of a headache than just random searching.
