So, the other day I decided to check out the Fishkill Golf Range. I’d heard some good things and, honestly, I just needed to whack some balls and clear my head. Here’s how it went down.
First, I grabbed my clubs from the trunk – they were a little dusty, haven’t used them in a while. Drove over to the range, which was pretty easy to find, not too far off the main road.
Getting Started
Once I got there, I headed inside to the counter. The guy there was super chill, laid back. I paid for a large bucket of balls – figured I’d be there a while. He gave me a token, and I headed out to the range itself.
- Found a stall pretty easily, wasn’t too crowded, which was nice.
- Dumped my bucket of balls into the dispenser thingy.
- Took a few practice swings – felt a little stiff at first, gotta loosen up.
Hitting Some Balls
Then, I just started hitting. Nothing fancy, just trying to get a good rhythm going. My first few swings? Pretty awful. Topped a couple, sliced a few others. You know, the usual rusty golfer stuff. But after a few, I started to get into the groove.
Started with my irons, just working on getting solid contact. Slowly but surely, my shots started to get better, flying straighter, farther. Felt good to see that ball soaring through the air (when it actually did, haha).
After the irons, I switched to my driver. That’s always the fun one, right? Tried to really let loose, but without losing control. First few were…interesting. But I eventually found a decent swing, and managed to hit a few pretty good drives. Satisfying!

Wrapping Up
I spent a good hour or so there, just hitting ball after ball. Honestly, it was exactly what I needed. Got some exercise, cleared my head, and even managed to improve my swing a little bit. By the time I finished my bucket, I was feeling pretty good.
So, overall, I’d say the Fishkill Golf Range is a solid spot. Nothing super fancy, but it’s got everything you need to practice your game. I’ll definitely be going back.
