Identifying the best pokemon that look like dogs? See our top picks and why fans love them.

Okay, so check this out, I was totally bored the other day and thought, “Hey, let’s do something kinda dumb but fun.” I’m talking about finding Pokémon that look like dogs. Yeah, you heard me right.

First things first, I hopped on Bulbapedia, you know, the ultimate Pokémon resource. Started just scrolling through the Pokémon list, looking for anything vaguely canine. It was way harder than I thought. So many weird creatures, but not a lot of straight-up dogs.

I started making a list, jotting down names of Pokémon that even remotely resembled a dog. Think: long snout, four legs, maybe some floppy ears. It was a pretty broad definition, I admit.

  • Growlithe – Obvious choice, right? Basically a fire puppy.
  • Arcanine – Growlithe’s evolution, also super dog-like.
  • Houndour – Okay, a bit devilish, but still a dog!
  • Houndoom – Same as Houndour, just bigger and meaner.
  • Poochyena – A hyena-ish vibe, but close enough for me.
  • Mightyena – Poochyena’s evolution, definitely more dog-like.
  • Snubbull – Grumpy bulldog vibes for sure.
  • Granbull – Snubbull’s evolution, still got that bulldog thing going on.
  • Yamper – Electric corgi! How could I not include it?
  • Boltund – Yamper’s evolution, a proper good boy.

Next up, I needed pictures! I didn’t want to just list names, that’s boring. So, I went back to Bulbapedia and started grabbing images of each Pokémon. I cropped them so they were all roughly the same size, and arranged them into a cool collage.

I fired up Photoshop (yeah, I know, overkill) and threw all the images into a new document. I messed around with the layout, trying to make it look interesting. Added some text with a cheesy font, something like “Pokémon That Could Be Your Best Friend!”

The final step? Sharing it online! I uploaded the collage to my social media, along with a link to the Bulbapedia page for each Pokémon. Added a few hashtags like #pokemon #dogs #pokemongo. You know, the usual stuff.

It was a silly little project, but it was fun. Got some laughs and a few likes. Plus, I learned a little more about Pokémon. Who knew there were so many dog-like creatures in the Pokémon universe?

So yeah, that’s how I spent my afternoon. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff, but hey, sometimes you just gotta embrace the random, right?
