My First Attempt at Seeing Differently
Honestly when I heard about “special eyes” thing, I thought it was some magic trick. But last Tuesday afternoon I figured why not try? Grabbed my coffee, sat cross-legged on the living room rug facing the window. First mistake: that midday sun blasted straight into my eyeballs. Everything looked like glowing rectangles for 10 minutes straight. Rubbed my eyes like crazy thinking “special vision” meant permanent sunspots.
Adjusting My Approach
Next morning I got smarter. Kitchen table instead, soft lighting. Set phone timer for 5 minutes – can’t stand sitting still too long. Made myself relax shoulders (they were touching my ears!). Started staring at my coffee mug like it held universe secrets. Mug stayed boring. Mind wandered to grocery list. Timer beeped. Zero special anything.

Whole pen started breathing slightly! Forgot about grocery list completely. Held my breath and it vanished instantly. Nearly choked coughing.
Key Thing I Learned
Realized I was trying too damn hard after that. Next session I just gazed toward bookshelf without focusing. Let my eyes go lazy like during boring meetings. Slowly colors got richer – that red book popped like neon. Saw dust particles dancing in light beams I never noticed. Lasted maybe 20 seconds before my brain kicked in screaming “THIS IS WEIRD!” and ruined everything. But wow.
Biggest beginner tip? Stop expecting laser vision. It’s more like noticing how air shimmers above hot pavement – subtle stuff you usually ignore. My coffee mug’s still boring though. Maybe I need better coffee.
