Today I wanna talk about how to hit a draw with a driver. I’ve been struggling with this for a while, and I finally figured out a way that works for me. Let me share my experience.

Setting Up
First, I changed my grip. I used to have a pretty weak grip, but I moved to a stronger one. It felt weird at first, like I was holding the club wrong, but it made a big difference. I also adjusted my stance. I moved the ball position a bit forward in my stance, closer to my front foot. It seemed simple, but it was a game-changer.
The Swing
Next, I focused on my swing path. I tried to swing from the inside out. I know, it sounds complicated, but basically, I imagined swinging towards the target from inside my body instead of straight at it. This part took some practice. I spent hours at the range just trying to get the feel for it. I messed up a lot, but I kept at it.
- Grip: Stronger grip
- Stance: Ball forward
- Swing: Inside-out path
The Loft
Here’s the kicker – I realized the loft of my driver was super important. I had been using a driver with a lower loft, thinking it would give me more distance. But for hitting a draw, I switched to a higher loft driver. This was the answer for me. It helped me get the ball up in the air and shape it the way I wanted.
Practice Makes Perfect
I started hitting balls at the range, focusing on these changes. At first, I was all over the place. Some shots went straight, some sliced, but I kept practicing. It was frustrating, but I didn’t give up. I just kept swinging, keeping those adjustments in mind.
Finally Hitting a Draw
Then, it happened. I hit one, and it curved just right. It was a beautiful draw. I couldn’t believe it. I did it again, and again. Each time, that sweet curve from right to left. It felt amazing. I was finally hitting a draw consistently. I was so excited, I wanted to share this with everyone.

Keeping It Up
Now, I’m still working on it. I go to the range regularly and practice hitting draws. It’s not perfect every time, but I’m getting better. I’m also experimenting with different drivers and lofts to see what works best. It’s a journey, but I’m enjoying it. And the best part is, I’m hitting the ball further and straighter than ever before.
So yeah, that’s my story. It took some time, some frustration, and a lot of practice, but I finally figured out how to hit a draw with my driver. Hope this helps someone out there!
