Okay, so, the Padres are in the playoffs, which is huge, right? I really wanted to go, but let me tell you, getting tickets was a whole adventure in itself.
First off, I started by checking out the usual spot, Ticketmaster. I mean, that’s where you go for tickets, right? I navigated through their website, found the Padres playoff section, and my jaw almost hit the floor.
- The prices were insane! I saw some tickets going for as low as $135, but others? Thousands! We’re talking up to nine grand for some seats. I mean, I love the Padres, but that’s a bit much, you know?
So, I decided to explore other options, I heard about SeatGeek being the “official” ticket place, so I headed over there, too. It was pretty much the same story, maybe a tiny bit cheaper, but still way more than I was hoping to spend.
And here’s the real kicker. I found out that they’re limiting ticket sales to people who live close to San Diego. I guess if you’re in LA County, you’re out of luck. I understand they want the home crowd, but still, it felt a bit unfair.
I also read something about not being allowed to resell the tickets, which is a bummer if your plans change. Makes sense, they don’t want scalpers, but it also means you’re kinda stuck if something comes up.
After a lot of back and forth, comparing prices, and checking different websites, I finally managed to snag a couple of tickets that didn’t require me to sell a kidney. It took some serious digging, but I did it! It wasn’t easy, and it definitely wasn’t cheap, but hey, it’s the playoffs!
