Alright, so the other day, I was messing around with my Pokémon team, right? Got this Clefairy I caught way back on Mt. Moon. Cool pink thing, knows Metronome which is always good for a laugh. Figured it was time to see what this Clefable business is all about, heard it’s kinda bulky.
My First Stupid Idea
I’m thinking, “Okay, it must level up like most others.” So I stick Clefairy in the front spot, grind some battles. Levels up to 30… nothing. Level 35… still pink and stubborn. Level 40, and my dude just keeps smiling at me. Zilch. Annoying as heck! Should’ve remembered not all Pokémon play by the level-up rules.
Grasping At Straws (And Candies)
Alright, plan B. Heard people talking about high friendship? Maybe it loves me enough? Fed it a bunch of Poffins ’til its belly looked ready to burst. Walked it around the whole region multiple times. Checked my Pokédex, says “Very friendly”. Perfect! Threw it into one more fight… wins… level 43… still a Clefairy. Felt like I wasted hours. Seriously frustrating.
Started thinking maybe I needed some special location? Tried evolving it:
- Near some weird stones? Nope.
- Inside a cave? Still pink.
- At night? Moonlight didn’t do squat.
Felt like a total idiot running around hoping for magic.
The Duh Moment
Staring at my bag later, frustrated, shuffling items around. My eyes landed on the Moon Stone I picked up ages ago near Mt. Moon. Felt like a literal lightbulb went off. “Oh… right… that kind of stone. Duh.” It was just sitting there the whole time.
Selected the Moon Stone from my bag, clicked “Use” on Clefairy. Boom! Instant sparkles! No fuss, no battle needed, no walking required. Two seconds flat, Clefairy transformed into Clefable. Just like that. Felt simultaneously thrilled and like the biggest numbskull on the planet.
So yeah, after all that running, grinding, feeding… the answer was sitting in my pocket the whole darn time. Moon Stone. That’s literally it. Effortless? Absolutely. Just need to actually use the right item. All those years playing, and I forgot the basics. I’m such a noob sometimes. But hey, got my Clefable now!
