Alright, so the other day I was chilling, and this random thought popped into my head: “how far is london to bath?” I mean, I’ve been to both cities, but never really thought about the actual distance. So, I figured, why not find out? Here’s how my little adventure went down.
First thing I did, naturally, was to fire up my laptop. Google Maps, here I come! I typed in “London to Bath” and BAM! There it was. According to Google, it’s roughly 115 miles (around 185 kilometers) if you’re driving. Not bad, eh?
But I wasn’t satisfied with just that. I started digging around a bit more. I wanted to see what the train situation was like. I mean, who wants to deal with London traffic if you don’t have to?
So, I hopped over to the National Rail website. Typed in my starting point (London Paddington, usually) and my destination (Bath Spa). Turns out, you can get a direct train that takes about an hour and a half. Pretty sweet! And you get to see some nice countryside along the way. Way better than being stuck in a car, in my opinion.
Next up: I got curious about bus routes. I figured it’d be a cheaper option, but probably a lot slower. Checked out a few bus companies like National Express. Yep, it’s cheaper, but it takes like 3-4 hours. Definitely not the best choice if you’re in a hurry.
While I was at it, I thought I’d see if anyone had written any interesting blog posts or articles about the journey. Found a few travel blogs with people sharing their experiences. One person recommended taking the train and then renting a bike in Bath to explore the city. Sounded like a cool idea!
I even went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at different routes you could drive. Some of them take you through some really cute little towns and villages. Might be worth it if you have the time and want to make a road trip out of it.
