Honda ST1300 Weight Facts: Comparing It to Other Touring Bikes

That Honda ST1300, oh boy, it’s a big fella. You know, like those big tractors we used to see on old man Johnson’s farm. This one, they say it’s a “sport touring motorcycle”. I don’t know about all that fancy talk, but I know it ain’t no bicycle.

They say this Honda ST1300 weight is something like 320 kilograms. Kilograms, shmilograms, what’s that in pounds? A lot, I tell ya! I remember lifting bags of feed for the chickens, and this is way heavier than that. Must be like, 700 pounds or more. It’s a heavy one. This ain’t no scooter, that’s for sure.

They say it’s for long rides, something about “touring”. Like going to visit your cousin in the next town, but further. My old bones wouldn’t last that long on any bike, heavy or not. But for those young folks with strong backs, maybe it’s good. They say this Honda ST1300 is good for long rides, gentle curves, they say. Not for the twisty roads, like the one going up to Miller’s hill. Too big for that.

  • Heavy: That Honda ST1300 weight is a lot. Like a big cow.
  • Big: It’s a big bike. Not for short folks.
  • Long Rides: Good for going far, they say.
  • Not for Twisty Roads: Too big to be nimble, like a goat on a mountain.

They made this thing, this Honda ST1300, from 2002 to 2013, I hear. A long time. They stopped making the old one, the ST1100, and started making this one. Now, they don’t even make this Honda ST1300 anymore. They got another one now. CTX1300, they call it. Sounds like a robot. They say it’s a “cruiser machine” now, but it’s got the same engine, whatever that means.

I saw some folks talking about it, saying it’s a “highly refined mileage disposal unit”. Sounds like something you’d put in the trash, but I guess it means it goes far. They compare it to other bikes, like the FJR, and the Connie. Don’t know those folks, must be from the city. All these names, it’s too much for an old brain like mine.

This Honda ST1300, they say it’s fancy. One part for going long distances, like a truck, and one part for going fast on curvy roads. Must be expensive. Costs more than a good milk cow, I bet. They say it’s like that Gold Wing, that big one, but also like the CBR, which I hear is fast. Too much for me. I just need to get to the market and back. That weight of Honda ST1300 is too heavy for me.

They put a lot of stuff on this bike, this Honda ST1300. Stuff I don’t need. Makes it cost more, makes it heavier. Waste of money, if you ask me. Like putting a fancy saddle on a mule. It’s still a mule. But that’s just me.

Folks who own it, they say good things. You know, people like to talk about their things. Like old man Hemmitt with his prize-winning rooster. They say it’s good, this Honda ST1300. I guess if you got the money, and you like to go far, maybe it’s good. But I saw some details for 2018 Honda ST1300 ABS. I think they haven’t made new one for a long time.

They say that Honda ST1300 weight is “well distributed”. Like spreading manure on the fields, I guess. Makes it stable, they say. So it doesn’t tip over, I suppose. That’s good, I guess. Nobody wants to fall off a bike, especially not one that heavy. That weight of Honda ST1300, need to be careful.

You know, for me, a bike is a bike. Two wheels and you pedal. This Honda ST1300, it’s too much. Too heavy, too fancy, too expensive. But for some folks, maybe it’s just right. Like a good pair of boots, it depends on your feet. Just remember, that Honda ST1300 weight is a lot. Be careful out there.

I don’t know all them fancy words. But I know that Honda ST1300 weight, that is a lot. That thing, I think it is just too much for a simple person. But hey, what do I know? I’m just saying what I think. That Honda ST1300, it is a heavy one.
