So, George Russell turned 26 today, right? I’m a huge F1 nerd and been following this guy since his Williams days. Figured I’d actually do something proper to celebrate instead of just scrolling memes.
Step 1: Finding His Socials
First thing I did was grab my phone after breakfast. Opened Instagram and straight up typed “George Russell” in search. His verified account popped right away – that blue checkmark don’t lie. Noticed his latest post already had like 50k birthday comments. Made me feel lazy being late to the party haha.
Step 2: Crafting the Message
Started typing in the comment box: “Happy birthday Georgie boy!” … then backspaced immediately. That sounded too cringe. Tried again with “Big congrats on 26! Keep smashing it mate” but deleted that too. Finally settled on:
- 🔥 No magic number 63 today but here’s to more podiums!
- 🎂 Hope the team force-feeds you cake between sessions!
- 👊 Still remember that Sakhir drive like yesterday – legend!

Step 3: The Race Rewatch Marathon
Booted up my dusty F1TV subscription. Knew exactly which three races to watch:
First – Brazil 2022. That insane charge from P8 to P1? Yeah buddy! Watched his onboard cam the whole time. Man that Mercedes was dancing through traffic.
Second – That Sakhir 2020 magic. Seeing him lead in the Merc substitute seat still gives me chills. Poor guy with the tire mixup though… had to pause and yell at the screen again.
Third – Spain 2024. Watched his battle with Sainz around turn 3 like five times. That defensive move was chef’s kiss.
The Aftermath
Spent probably three hours total rewatching highlights while snacking. Checked Insta later – no reply from George obviously (lol) but my comment got 72 likes from fellow fans. Called my brother who’s also into F1 and we geeked out about Austria 2023 for twenty minutes. Solid birthday tribute mission accomplished 👌
