Okay, so I’ve been following the NWSL pretty closely this season, and the match between Gotham FC and Bay FC was one I was really looking forward to. I mean, the hype was real, and I just had to see how it would all play out.
I grabbed some snacks, got comfy on the couch, and tuned in right as the game was starting. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint from the get-go.
Literally, in the eighth minute, things got crazy. Ella Stevens, who’s been on fire lately, scored. But she didn’t stop there. A few minutes later, she netted another one! I was like, “Whoa, this girl’s a machine!” Two goals just like that, and it was the fastest brace I’d seen all season in the NWSL. Talk about setting the tone, right?
After that, Gotham FC just took control. They were passing like they had some kind of telepathy, and their defense was solid. Bay FC tried to keep up, but it was tough.
- I kept checking the stats throughout the game, you know, just to see how things were stacking up.
- Possession, shots on goal, all that jazz.
- And yeah, Gotham was dominating in most areas.
By the end of it all, the score was 5-1. A total blowout! Gotham FC really showed up and showed out. I gotta give props to YAEL AVERBUCH too. Being the General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations, you can tell her strategy is working wonders.
I was so pumped after watching that match. It’s games like these that make me love soccer even more. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store!
After the game I started texting all my friends who are into soccer, I was like, “Did you SEE that game?!” We were all geeking out about it. It’s awesome when you can share moments like that with your buddies, right?
