Okay, so I gotta tell you guys about my Furfrou adventure in Pokemon Go. It was a bit of a grind, but totally worth it for that sweet, sweet Pokedex completion. Let’s dive right in!
First things first, catching the Furfrou! I started by just keeping an eye out during the event when Furfrou was spawning like crazy. I made sure to catch every single one I saw. Seriously, every. Single. One. Pinap berries were my best friend. I was swimming in Furfrou candy by the end of it.
Then came the trims. This is where it gets interesting, and a little bit location-dependent. I knew some trims were regional, meaning you could only get them in certain parts of the world. Since I couldn’t exactly hop on a plane to France or Egypt on a whim, I focused on the ones I could get locally.
- Natural Form: This one’s easy, it’s just the default Furfrou. You’ll get this one no problem just by catching them.
- Heart Trim: This one’s usually available around Valentine’s Day. It’s a limited-time trim, so make sure you change your Furfrou during the event.
- Star Trim, Diamond Trim, Debutante Trim, Matron Trim, Dandy Trim: These were the ones I could get just by changing the form using candy and stardust. Just open up your Furfrou, hit that ‘Change Form’ button, and pick the trim you want (if you have enough resources, of course!).
Now for the tricky part: the regional trims. I knew I couldn’t get the Pharaoh Trim (Egypt), the Kabuki Trim (Japan), or the La Reine Trim (France) myself. So, I had to get creative!
Trading Time! This is where the Pokemon Go community came in clutch. I started hitting up local Discord groups and online forums, looking for people who were willing to trade. I offered some shiny Pokemon and a few legendaries I had duplicates of, hoping someone with a regional Furfrou would be interested. It took a while, but eventually, I found a player who had traveled to France and was willing to trade me a La Reine Trim Furfrou! We met up in person for the trade, and it was awesome!
The other regionals? Well, I’m still working on those! Trading is definitely the way to go, but it takes patience and some good bargaining skills. Keep an eye out for travelers in your local community and don’t be afraid to make an offer!
Stardust and Candy Management: Let me tell you, changing Furfrou forms is a stardust sink. Make sure you’re stocked up! I was constantly catching Pokemon and doing raids to replenish my stardust reserves. And don’t forget to use those Pinap berries on every Furfrou you see to maximize your candy gains.
