Alright, so I’ve been spending a fair bit of time with Marvel Rivals lately, like a lot of us. Scarlet Witch is one of the characters I really got into playing. Naturally, when you play a character a lot, you start wondering what kind of cool outfits, you know, skins, they might get down the line.

So, I got this idea. Maybe, just maybe, there were some hints hidden away in the game files already. You hear about people doing this stuff, datamining, pulling out secrets before they’re announced. I figured, why not give it a shot myself? I wasn’t looking to break anything, just curious, you know?
Getting Started with the Dig
First off, I had to actually find where the game keeps its stuff on my computer. Took a bit of poking around, navigating through folders. Once I located the main game data, the next step was figuring out how to even look inside those files in a way that made sense. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was doing at first, gotta be honest. I grabbed some tools people generally use for this kind of thing, nothing too fancy, just basic stuff to peek into game assets.
Then came the real time sink. Seriously, it took hours. I started just opening things up, looking for anything that screamed “Scarlet Witch” or “skin” or “costume”. Most of it was just code or file names that didn’t mean much to me immediately. Lots and lots of files.
- I searched for text strings first. Things like character names, item descriptions.
- Then I looked at asset names, hoping for something obvious like “ScarletWitch_Skin_Variant01”.
- I even tried looking at texture files, though that was tougher without the proper tools to view everything correctly.
Finding the Potential Goodies
After a whole lot of scrolling and searching, I started seeing patterns. Found some file names that definitely seemed related to Wanda. They weren’t clearly labelled like “Future Official Skin”, more like internal development names, kinda cryptic. But there were several grouped together that hinted at different appearances.
It felt like putting together a puzzle with half the pieces missing. I saw references that made me think of a few different looks. It’s hard to be certain, you know? Datamined stuff isn’t a guarantee. It could be old content they decided not to use, or placeholders.

Based on the file names and some associated data bits I could make sense of, here’s what I think I found hints of:
- Something that sounded like her more classic comic book look. The naming convention seemed to point towards that style.
- Another set of files hinted at maybe a more modern, maybe MCU-inspired outfit? Less specific, but the vibe was different from the classic one.
- There might have been a third, but the references were super vague, could have been anything or just test data.
Wrapping it Up
So yeah, that was my little adventure into the game files. It was pretty interesting to see how things are stored, even if it was mostly confusing. I managed to find these little breadcrumbs that suggest some cool Scarlet Witch skins might be planned for Marvel Rivals. Remember though, this is just me digging around. None of this is official. The developers could change their minds, or these files could mean something totally different.
Still, it was a fun process, felt like a bit of detective work. Now I’m just eager to see what actually gets released officially. Hopefully, some of the things I saw clues for actually make it into the game for Wanda!
