Funny Dwight Schrute Desk: What weird things did Dwight Schrute have on his desk?

Okay, so, I saw this thing online about recreating Dwight Schrute’s desk, and I thought, “Why not?” I’m a huge fan of “The Office,” and Dwight is just…well, he’s Dwight. So, I started this little project, it became a thing I was doing.

First thing, I needed to find that bobblehead, you know, the one of that Phillies player, Mike Lieberthal. Turns out, finding one wasn’t as easy as I thought. I spent like, an hour online just searching for the right one. I finally found a replica on this random online store. I ordered it, hoping it would look authentic enough. It arrived in a week, and it was perfect! I was so pumped!

Then, I began clearing off my desk. It’s usually a mess, but I needed a clean slate for this. I put everything in boxes, and wiped down the whole surface. It was oddly satisfying. I also started watching episodes of “The Office” where Dwight’s desk was visible. I took a bunch of screenshots, pausing and zooming in like a detective. I was really getting into it.

Rearranging and adding stuff

  • Positioning the Bobblehead: I put the bobblehead on the right side of my desk, just like in the show. It felt weirdly important to get this right.
  • Computer and Phone: I’m not gonna lie, my computer setup is way more modern than Dwight’s. But I tried to position my monitor and keyboard in a similar way. I even found an old-school phone to put next to it, just for the vibes.
  • Other Stuff: I added a stapler, some pens, and a few random office supplies. I tried to find stuff that looked like it belonged in the early 2000s. I even printed out a “Dunder Mifflin” logo and stuck it on my wall. I was fully committed at this point.

After a few days, my desk was starting to look really close to Dwight’s. It was pretty cool, not gonna lie. It’s funny how much a few small changes can make a space feel different. I mean, it’s still just my desk, but it’s got this whole new character to it.

I started working from this “new” desk, and it was an experience. I found myself quoting Dwight more often, which was hilarious. And, for some reason, I felt more productive. Maybe it was just the novelty of it all, but it was definitely more fun than my usual setup.

This whole thing, it was just a fun experiment. But it ended up being more than that. It was a nice reminder that even small changes can make a big difference. Plus, now I have the coolest desk ever. “Before I do anything I ask myself, ‘Would an idiot do that?’ And if the answer is yes, I do not do that thing.” Yeah, I would probably do it again.

So, that’s my story about recreating Dwight Schrute’s desk. It was a journey, to say the least. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s a fun way to spice up your workspace and maybe even learn a little bit about yourself. Or at least about your tolerance for beet jokes.
