Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this Fantasy Premier League thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. I mean, you think you know football, and then you start playing FPL and realize you’re just a tiny little guy who can’t predict anything. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? So, I figured I’d share some of my “wisdom” – or lack thereof – with you all.

First off, I started by trying to stay on top of the news. I mean, it sounds pretty obvious, but you gotta know what’s going on with the players. I started reading all sorts of articles, trying to get a sense of who’s in form, who’s injured, who’s got a bad attitude this week. It’s a lot to keep track of, but I did my best.
Then, I started looking at the upcoming Gameweeks. Specifically, I dove deep into Gameweek 17, trying to figure out who the best picks might be. I spent hours on the computer, and let me tell you, my eyes are still hurting. I’m like a detective, but instead of solving crimes, I’m trying to figure out which defender is gonna get me the most points. Not quite as exciting, I guess.
- I dug into the stats from the last four Gameweeks.
- I scrutinized every single player.
- I considered every possible scenario.
And you know what? It’s actually kind of fun to see how your choices pan out. Sometimes, you make a genius move, and you feel like a total boss. Other times, you pick a guy who gets a red card in the first five minutes, and you want to throw your computer out the window. But it’s all part of the game, I think.
My Findings and My Team Selection
After all that research, I ended up with a team that I thought was pretty solid. But of course, I had to make some changes along the way. I mean, you can’t just stick with the same team the whole time, right? You gotta adapt, you gotta make moves. So, I’d swap out a player here, bring in a new guy there.
I watched game after game, cheering on my guys, and cursing the other teams. My friends started making fun of me, saying I was taking it way too seriously. But hey, when you’re in the middle of the season, and you’re trying to climb up the rankings, it’s hard not to get invested, you know?

Ultimately, I learned that FPL is a marathon, not a sprint. You’re gonna have good weeks, and you’re gonna have bad weeks. You just gotta keep grinding, keep making smart choices, and hope for the best. And, you know, maybe have a little fun along the way.
So, there you have it. My FPL journey so far. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Except maybe a higher ranking, of course. Just kidding… unless?
