So, today I was totally hyped to check out some college football bowl games. I mean, who doesn’t love a good game, right?

First things first, I started to figure out what games were actually on today. It was a Saturday, and I just knew there had to be some exciting matchups. I remembered that the College Football Playoff schedule for the 2024-25 season was already out, so I figured that was a good place to start.
I tried to find the schedule. I wanted to know the teams, times, and where the games were being played. I found out that one of the games today was at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, and it was happening in Birmingham. This got me pretty pumped!

I thought it was cool that there were games scheduled all the way through January, including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the national championship game. I saw that there was a College Football Playoff Quarterfinal game, the Fiesta Bowl, with Penn State playing against Boise State. Penn State won, 31-14, it took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Diving Into the Details
I found out it was the second day of the college football bowl season, and although the College Football Playoff quarterfinals hadn’t started yet, there was still a lot of action going on. I heard that this was the first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff format, which I thought was pretty interesting.
I made a note that the article I was reading would be updated throughout the bowl season with final scores, TV info, and new matchups. I also bookmarked the full bowl schedule to keep track of everything.

One thing that really caught my eye was the date for the College Football Playoff national championship game. It’s scheduled for Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The matchup is set to be between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Ohio State Buckeyes. That’s going to be a big one! And, it’s going to be broadcast on ESPN.

Today, it sounded like a pretty awesome day for football, and I’m glad I got to share my little adventure of figuring out what’s what in the world of college football bowl games.
It was a bit of a wild ride, trying to piece together all the info from different sources, but in the end, I got a pretty clear picture of what games were happening and when. I’m really looking forward to catching some of these games, especially the national championship. Go teams!
