First time at Mile Creek Farm Market: Everything to know.

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to check out Mile Creek Farm Market for ages. I kept seeing pictures of their gorgeous produce and flowers on social media, and it just looked like the perfect weekend outing. Finally, this past Saturday, I made it happen!

First things first, I looked up their hours online. I’m glad I did because they have different hours depending on the season. Turns out, they were open from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays in the fall. Perfect!

Getting There

Next, I plugged their address into my phone’s GPS. It was about a 30-minute drive from my place, mostly highway, so it was pretty easy to get to. The drive itself was actually quite nice, very scenic with lots of trees changing colors. Made the trip feel like part of the experience.

Arriving at the Market

When I pulled up, I was immediately struck by how charming the place was. It’s a real, working farm, with rows of crops stretching out behind the market building. There were plenty of parking spaces, which was a relief. I hate circling around looking for a spot.

Inside the Market

Stepping inside, it was like entering a foodie’s paradise! The air smelled like fresh-baked bread and ripe apples. There were beautiful displays everywhere: vibrant pumpkins, gourds of all shapes and sizes, colorful mums, and stacks of sweet potatoes.

  • I grabbed a basket and started wandering around.
  • First, I hit the produce section. I picked up some beautiful heirloom tomatoes, a couple of heads of lettuce that looked like they were just picked, and some crisp green beans.
  • Then, I moved on to the baked goods. Oh my goodness! They had everything from apple cider donuts (which I definitely snagged a few of) to crusty loaves of bread and pies that smelled divine. I resisted the pies, but only barely.
  • They also had a section with local honey, jams, and preserves. I picked up a jar of wildflower honey because, why not?
  • There were cut flower,I picked up a small bouquet.

Checking Out

Finally, I headed to the checkout. The staff were super friendly and helpful, chatting with everyone and making recommendations. They even gave me a few tips on how to store the tomatoes to keep them fresh longer.

Overall, my trip to Mile Creek Farm Market was fantastic! I left with a basket full of goodies and a big smile on my face. I’ll definitely be back, maybe even next weekend to stock up on more fall treats. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!
