Okay, here we go, let’s talk about “Rock the Block” Season 2.

Man, I was glued to the TV for this one. Six weeks of watching these designers hustle to flip houses? Sign me up! I tried to watch all the episodes of this season. I even set alarms so I wouldn’t miss an episode, hah!
So, this season they had Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt, Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, David Bromstad and Tiffany Brooks, and Alison Victoria and Mike Holmes. A seriously stacked lineup, right? I pulled up the HGTV website on my phone and started checking out all the designers’ past projects. Real deep dive, you know?
Each team got a cookie-cutter house and a budget, and they had to turn it into a dream home. I took notes during every episode, trying to figure out who had the best strategy. My notebook was a mess – floor plans, paint colors, budget breakdowns, the whole nine yards. I was obsessed!
- Brian and Mika – They were the underdogs. Didn’t win any of the weekly challenges, but I liked their style.
- Nate and Jeremiah – Super chic, always on trend.
- David and Tiffany – Bold colors, wild designs.
- Alison and Mike – She’s a powerhouse, and he’s Mr. Fix-It.
I was watching the show with my wife, and we were constantly arguing about who was going to win. I was team Brian and Mika from the start, but my wife is a huge Nate and Jeremiah fan. She kept going on about their “curated” style. I mean, the way she talked about it was a bit much, but I get it, they are good.
The finale finally rolls around. I made popcorn, had my notebook ready, the whole deal. It gets down to the appraisal, and guess what? Brian and Mika’s house appraised for $625,000! They won the whole thing!

I was thrilled! They didn’t win a single challenge during the season, but they played the long game. Their house was just solid, you know? It was a craftsman-style home, good layout, smart design choices. My wife was shocked, she was totally rooting for Nate and Jeremiah. She was going on and on about how their house was more “editorial.” Whatever that means.
They got a street named after them! I took a screenshot of that moment and sent it to all my friends who were watching the show. We were all hyped up. We even planned a watch party for the next season. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll try to flip a house myself. Just need to convince my wife first! She’s still not over Brian and Mika’s win, haha!
This show is such a fun watch. If you’re into home design or just like a good competition, you should definitely check it out. Just be prepared to get hooked, and maybe start sketching out your own dream home designs in a notebook, like I did!
