Alright, so I was settling in for a gaming session on my PC the other evening. Fired up that popular battle royale game, you know the one where you drop from a big ol’ flying bus. I’d seen other players do it, or maybe read about it somewhere, this little thing where you can thank the bus driver before jumping out.
Seemed like a nice touch, a bit of fun, so I figured I’d try it myself. As the bus was flying over the map, I started looking around my keyboard. My first instinct was to hit the usual keys. Tried ‘F’ because that’s often ‘use’ or ‘interact’. Nothing happened. Tried ‘E’. Nope. Maybe it was tied to the emote wheel? Brought that up, but didn’t see an obvious ‘thank driver’ option there either. Hmm.
Figuring It Out
Okay, mashing random keys wasn’t getting me anywhere. I thought, maybe it’s a specific prompt I missed on screen? Looked closely during the next match’s bus ride, but didn’t spot anything obvious popping up telling me what button to press. It wasn’t like picking up loot or opening doors.
So, plan B. Went into the game’s settings menu. Navigated over to the keyboard controls, the keybinds section. Man, there are a lot of controls in these games nowadays. Started scrolling through the list, looking for anything related to the bus or thanking someone. Took me a minute, scrolling past movement, combat, building binds…
And then, there it was, tucked away usually near the emote or communication binds. Plain as day once I saw it. It said something like ‘Thank The Driver’ or just ‘Bus Thank’. And the default key? It was the B key. Just… ‘B’. Huh. Seemed simple enough.
Putting it to the Test
Next match, as soon as I was on the bus, cruising along, I reached over and tapped the B key. Bingo! A little message popped up in the feed on the bottom left, saying “[My Username] thanked the bus driver.” Success! Felt kinda silly it was that straightforward, but hey, mission accomplished.
It’s a small thing, really, doesn’t change the game much. But it’s one of those little community things, a bit of good manners, virtual style. Glad I took the minute to figure it out. Now I can join in thanking the driver before plummeting down to the island. Just press B while you’re riding. Easy peasy.
