Fight MMA Street: Top tips from experts for using mixed martial arts effectively in street fights.

Alright, so I went out today, I’ve been wanting to try some of this MMA street fighting stuff for a while now. I’ve watched a bunch of videos online and read some things about it, and it looked kinda cool, you know? So, I thought, why not give it a shot?

First off, I started by doing some warm-ups. I did some stretches, jumped around a bit, just to get the blood flowing. Didn’t want to pull a muscle or anything. I was in my backyard. I picked my backyard because it was the only place that I can do anything like this, I wasn’t about to go into the streets and get into trouble.

Then, I went through some basic moves. I practiced some punches, mostly boxing since that’s what I saw recommended the most. I threw some jabs, some hooks, you know, the usual. I also tried out a few kicks, but I’m not very flexible, so those were kind of awkward. I did notice I was getting winded pretty fast, so I definitely need to work on my cardio.

  • First, I threw some punches, then tried some kicks.
  • I tried to keep my guard up, like I’ve seen in the videos, but I kept dropping my hands. Old habits, I guess.
  • I also worked on some grappling moves. I don’t know any formal techniques, so I just kind of tried to grab and wrestle with an imaginary opponent.

It was tougher than I thought it would be. I mean, it’s one thing to watch people do this stuff online, but it’s a whole different story when you’re actually doing it yourself. I was trying to remember all the techniques and keep my balance, and I ended up tripping over my own feet a couple of times. Felt kind of silly, but hey, it’s all part of the learning process, right?

Some Takeaways

  • It’s definitely a good workout, I’ll give it that. I was sweating buckets by the end of it.
  • I realized I need to work on my footwork. I was pretty clumsy and kept getting tangled up.
  • And, like I said before, my cardio needs some serious improvement.

Overall, it was a fun experiment. I don’t think I’ll be challenging anyone to a street fight anytime soon, but it was interesting to try out some of these techniques and see what it’s all about. Maybe I’ll keep practicing and see if I can get any better. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to do a proper roundhouse kick without falling over.

Anyways, that’s my little adventure for today. Just thought I’d share my experience. Maybe some of you have tried this stuff too? Let me know in the comments.
