Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 3: Top Picks and Who to Target to Get Best Player Right Now!

Okay, so, Week 3 of fantasy football is just around the corner, and you know what that means? Time to hit that waiver wire! I’ve been digging deep, watching games, and crunching numbers to figure out who’s worth picking up.

First thing I did was review the games from Week 2. I watched every game, and I mean every. Single. One. Took notes on who looked good, who got injured, and who might be getting more playing time going forward. It was a long weekend, but someone has to do it. I also had to look at some players’ stats from Week 1 just to see who was performing consistently.

Then, I started looking at the current rosters of my fantasy teams. I identified the weak spots, the players who are not performing as well as I hoped for, or just those that didn’t score high. This way, I know which players I needed to find replacements for on the waiver wire.

After figuring out which positions to target, I fired up the waiver wire in my leagues. It took me a lot of time because of the number of teams I have. I looked at who was available and started comparing them to my notes. I tried to find a good match.

  • Quarterbacks

  • I noticed a few quarterbacks who had a surprisingly good Week 2 and are still available in a lot of leagues. I put in a claim for one who I think has a good matchup in Week 3. Fingers crossed I get him!

  • Running Backs

  • This is always a tough one. Injuries happen, and suddenly a backup is thrust into the spotlight. I spotted a couple of guys who might see increased carries due to injuries on their teams. I snagged one of them right away. I also put in a claim for a guy who I saw making a few good plays, who I think has potential for more touches.

  • Wide Receivers

  • There are always some breakout receivers early in the season. I found a couple that have been getting a lot of targets and seem to have good chemistry with their quarterbacks. I added one to my team and put in a waiver claim for another.

  • Tight Ends

  • Tight end is a tricky position. I saw one available tight end who had a decent Week 2 and is on a team that likes to throw to the tight end. I picked him up, hoping he can keep it up.

  • Defense/Special Teams

  • I usually stream defenses based on matchups. I looked at the schedule for Week 3 and found a defense that’s available in my league and playing against a struggling offense. Easy add.

  • Kickers

  • Kickers are kickers. I just made sure I had one who’s been consistent and is on a team that can move the ball.

It took a few hours, but I finally finished going through the waiver wire in all my leagues. Now, it’s just a waiting game to see who I get. Hopefully, I made some good moves that will pay off in Week 3. I will be watching out for updates and make adjustments if needed. This fantasy football thing is a marathon, not a sprint, you know?

I will keep on checking the news for injury updates and any other relevant info that might impact my waiver wire decisions. Gotta stay on top of things if you want to win! I have set up many alarms and notifications to make sure I am well informed.

Alright, that’s my waiver wire process for Week 3. Wish me luck, and I hope this helps some of you out there. Remember, it’s all about staying active and making those smart moves on the waiver wire. Good luck to everyone in Week 3!
