I was watching the WWE the other day, and it got me thinking about all those Money in the Bank cash-ins. You know, the ones where the wrestler has that briefcase and can challenge the champ anytime, anywhere. I tried to recall those failed ones, so I dug up the info on the internet and wanted to share them with you guys.
So, I started by searching for info about failed cash-ins. It turns out there are a few of them! The first one I looked into was John Cena. He’s the first to fail the cash in. I remember watching that match back in 2012. He cashed in on CM Punk, but it didn’t go his way.
- John Cena, during his feud with CM Punk, Cena called his shot and challenged Punk on RAW 1000 on July 23, 2012.
Then, I found that there are other guys who failed too. I wrote their names down so I wouldn’t forget.
- Damien Sandow, I remember him, but I can’t recall the match details. I just know he didn’t win the title.
- Baron Corbin, his match with Jinder Mahal was a mess. I watched that one, and it was pretty bad. He didn’t get the belt.
- Braun Strowman, another big guy who couldn’t pull it off. I think his was a bit more of a fight, but still a loss.
- Austin Theory, he is a relatively new guy, so I think many of us saw his match, right? He didn’t win.
- Drew McIntyre, I can’t recall his match, but the name sounds familiar. I guess he didn’t win either.
After listing them all, I watched some clips on the internet. I saw a woman, Green, who was about to grab the briefcase. Then, some other woman named Stratton tipped the ladder over, and Green fell. That was wild!
I kept searching, and I read a forum post saying that they wanted Y2J to win instead of Cena at first. But then, during the week of the show, they changed it to Cena. It’s crazy how things change behind the scenes.
I spent the whole afternoon going down this rabbit hole. It’s wild to see how many times these Money in the Bank cash-ins have failed. I thought it’s cool to share it with others, and that’s why I wrote this post.
