Alright so yesterday I decided to work on my dark dog, you know the cool purple ghosty-looking one? Needed that evolution bad. Forget those fancy guides, I figured I’d just mess around myself.
The Basic Setup
First thing I grabbed my phone and opened the app. My dark dog was chilling there at level 23. Stats weren’t great honestly. Kept losing battles against water types, felt kinda weak.
Started simple. Took him for walks. Lots of walks. Like, 10 times a day for snacks and stuff. Burned through all my berries just feeding this hungry mutt. Fed him those berry packs every single time he growled. Kinda expensive but whatever.
The Real Grind
Just walking wasn’t cutting it though. Needed action.
- Found a busy spot downtown near the fountain. Loads of players hang out there.
- Made him fight every single ghost and dark type I saw. Didn’t care about winning or losing, just kept battling.
- Used his charge move over and over even when it barely moved the health bar. Gotta farm that energy somehow.
- Threw all those purple candies at him. Seriously, hoarded them for weeks. Used like 80 just dumping levels into him.
After two days of this?
He hit level 25. Boom. Stuck his face in the candy bag again… and poof! Big purple flash. Scary-looking purple dog popped out, you know the one. Bigger teeth, crazy eyes. Stats jumped like crazy. That special move hits like a truck now.
Honestly thought it’d be harder. Just walk, feed, fight. Rinse and repeat. Don’t overthink it. Now he’s wrecking gyms no problem.
PS: Found out why it felt slow. Had the game open but phone was in my pocket walking the dog yesterday. Barely registered anything. You gotta keep that screen on and unlocked. Rookie mistake, wasted half a day on that.
