Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little adventures in gaming. Today, I wanna talk about something that had me scratching my head for a while: Emerald Chips in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery. Yeah, you heard that right, those little green buggers.
So, I started playing Season of Discovery, right? And I’m running around, doing quests, you know, the usual grind. And these things called Emerald Chips started popping up in my quest rewards. I’m like, “Cool, new items! What do they do?” Well, the game doesn’t exactly hold your hand and tell you, which is part of the fun, I guess, but also kinda frustrating when you’re trying to figure things out. I did find out that they were a quest reward, so I was hopeful.
I kept collecting them, thinking they’d be used for some cool crafting recipe or something. But nope, nothing. Then I started looking into these Nightmare Incursions. To start an incursion you gotta go to one of the four Emerald Dream Portals in Azeroth. There you can find the Field Captains who will give you quests to complete in these incursions.
From what I understand, these incursions are like mini-events where you fight off the nightmare or whatever. I did a couple, and they’re actually pretty fun and it seemed like a fast way to get 1000 reputation points. You complete quests from these Field Captain guys, and it boosts your reputation with the Emerald Wardens. I saw some talk on the forums about losing these chips or wanting more. I even saw some posts dated way back in August 2024. I also saw posts from people complaining about the new season and even the loot being buggy. I guess I didn’t experience those issues.
Anyway, I finally hit Revered with the Emerald Wardens, which is like, a pretty big deal in terms of reputation. And guess what? Turns out, those Emerald Chips are used to buy stuff from their vendors once you hit Revered and then Exalted, which is even higher. I felt like such a noob, but hey, we all learn somehow, right?
So, there you have it. Emerald Chips are basically currency for the Emerald Wardens vendors. You gotta grind that reputation, do those Nightmare Incursions, and then you can finally spend those chips on some sweet, sweet loot. It took me a while to figure it out.
