Okay, so, I’ve been seeing those DraftKings commercials everywhere lately, right? You know, the ones with Kevin Hart yelling, or that basketball player, LeBron James, shooting hoops in a barbershop? They’re pretty in-your-face. So, I got curious. What’s the big deal with this DraftKings thing? I mean, sports betting? Online? Is this even, like, a thing now?

First, I went to my computer and started with a simple search. Just typed in “DraftKings commercial” to see what would pop up. The first things were about their NFL offer, something like “bet 5, get 200.” Seemed like a lot, honestly. And then, I saw a bunch of stuff about Kevin Hart being their, what did they call it, “ambassador.” Yeah, that’s it. And they have this new tagline now: “The crown is yours.” Catchy, I guess.
Checked out Some Commercials
Then I watched a few of their ads. There was one where this big guy, some sports dude named David Ortiz, is watching a game with his friends. He finds out about some deal where you bet 5 bucks and can get 150 in bonus bets. He’s all like, “Papi got this!” and seems pretty excited. Then, another one with LeBron James in a barbershop talking about the same sort of deal. They’re really pushing this “bet 5, get something big” angle.
Digging a Little Deeper
So, after watching a few commercials, I did a little more searching about this whole DraftKings thing. Apparently, they’re not the only ones doing this online sports betting stuff. There’s also BetMGM, who have Kevin Garnett and Wayne Gretzky in their ads, and FanDuel, with Rob Gronkowski and Jordan Spieth. Even the Manning family is in on it with Caesars. It’s like a whole world of athletes and celebrities pushing this stuff. I was just surprised at how big it all was.
Realized the Extent of it All
After all this searching and watching, I realized that these DraftKings commercials are just the tip of the iceberg. It’s a whole industry, and it seems like they’re trying to grab as many people as possible with these ads and celebrity endorsements. Their 2024 advertising campaigns must be so important for them, I am guessing it helps them to get new customers and maintain their places in the market.
To be honest, I’m still not sure how I feel about the whole thing. But, I definitely understand why those DraftKings commercials are everywhere now. It’s big business, and they’re not holding back.
