Alright, let’s talk about this Dominic McKinley fella. I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is, you know? Heard folks sayin’ he’s some big shot football player. College football, they call it. Sounds important, I guess.

Now, from what I gather, this boy, Dominick McKinley, he’s real good at playin’ that football. Real good. People, they call him a five-star player. Don’t rightly know what that means, but sounds like he’s top-notch, the best of the best. Like them shiny stars you see up in the sky at night, only he’s shinin’ on the football field.
They say he plays defensive lineman. That means, I reckon, he’s the one stoppin’ the other fellas from runnin’ with the ball. Big and strong, probably. Like a bull in a china shop, but on purpose, you know?
This here McKinley, he was gonna go play for Texas AM. Said he would and all. Made a verbal commitment, they called it. Fancy words for sayin’ he promised. But then, things got all shook up. That coach, Jimbo Fisher, they let him go. Fired him, just like that. Imagine that! One day you got a job, the next you don’t.

So, young McKinley, he starts thinkin’ things over, I bet. He went back to Texas AM to see what’s what. Talked to some other coach, Elijah Robinson, they say. And after all that, he decided he’d stick with them Aggies after all. Reaffirmed his commitment, that’s what they said. Guess he liked what he heard.
This boy, he comes from Acadiana High School in Louisiana. That’s down south, y’all. Hot and humid, they tell me. Guess that’s where he learned to be so tough, playin’ football in that heat. Probably ate a lot of crawfish too, them Louisiana folks love their crawfish.

Now, they also say he’s ranked No. 30 overall in the 2024 ESPN 300. More numbers and letters, I swear! But it sounds important. Like he’s one of the top 30 players in the whole country. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Makes you think he’s gonna go far, this Dominic McKinley.
He announced all this on somethin’ called Instagram. That’s one of them fancy computer things, where folks post pictures and whatnot. My grandkids are always fiddlin’ with them. Can’t make heads or tails of it myself, but seems like that’s how the young folks do things these days.
So, there you have it. Dominick McKinley. Five-star football player. Defensive lineman. Gonna play for Texas AM. Comes from Louisiana. Ranked real high. Used that Instagram thing to tell the world his plans. Sounds like a big deal, this boy. Hope he does well for himself. Always good to see young folks makin’ somethin’ of themselves.
And that’s the whole story as far as I know it. Not too complicated, right? Just a young fella playin’ football and makin’ big decisions. Life’s full of decisions, ain’t it? Big ones and little ones. Just gotta do the best you can, that’s what I always say. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits. Don’t want them burnin’ now, do we?
This college football thing, it’s a whole different world from my days. We didn’t have all this fancy talk of five-stars and ESPN rankings. You just played ball because you loved it. But times change, I guess. And this young Dominick McKinley, he’s right in the thick of it. Seems like he’s got a bright future ahead of him. Just gotta stay focused and keep his head on straight. That’s the key, you know? Stay focused.
