This thing was straight off the showroom floor when I started – bulky, shiny, and looking like every other cruiser out there. Totally not my vibe anymore. First, Tearing It All Apart

Grabbed my ratchet set and went full demolition mode. Yanked off the giant plastic rear fender – that alone felt like shedding twenty pounds. Ripped out the blinkers, the passenger footpegs, and that ugly-ass factory exhaust. Then came the seat: huge two-person sofa thing? Gone. The handlebars were too high and wide, like ape hangers for giants. Unscrewed those too. Basically everything not absolutely essential to making it go or stop hit the scrap pile.

Chopping the Frame and Rear End

This part got serious. Measured about a billion times before cutting anything. Took my angle grinder to the rear frame rails – chopped ’em way shorter for that stubby bobber look. My welding ain’t pretty, but I ground down my crappy beads until they looked halfway decent. Made a custom steel bracket to hold the new, tiny rear fender I snagged online. Mounted that sucker tight and high, so you could see the tire underneath.

Putting It Back Together (Sort Of)

Time for the fun bits. Slapped on a solo saddle seat – thin, black, and stiff as a board. Looks killer, but yeah, my butt feels every bump. Found some drag-style handlebars; lower and way narrower than stock. Installed cheap bullet turn signals front and back – small and subtle. Biggest sound upgrade? Shorty mufflers! Loud? Hell yeah. Sounds like a shotgun going off now. Finished it off with matte black spray paint all over the frame and fenders. Used rattle cans because… budget. Did light sanding between coats to make it almost not look DIY.

The “After” Hit Different

Before, this bike blended in at stoplights. Now? People stare. It’s lower, louder, and looks half its original size. That stretched-out stance screams hot rod. Yeah, it vibrates like crazy without the big seat, and I had to re-wire half the electronics after frying something by accident. But rolling down the road on this chopped-up V Star? Worth every busted knuckle and greasy Saturday. Pure attitude on two wheels now.
