Alright, so I finally took the plunge and started customizing my Harley Breakout. I’ve always loved the look of these bikes, but I wanted to make mine truly unique, you know? Make it mine.

The Vision
I started by just staring at the bike for hours. Seriously, I’d just sit in the garage with a beer and look at it from every angle. I knew I wanted a low, mean, and aggressive look. Something that would turn heads but still be comfortable enough for longer rides. It’s a process what I really want, then I decided.
The Parts Hunt
This is where the real fun (and the real spending) began. Finding the right parts was a challenge. I spent countless nights browsing online, checking out forums, and talking to other Harley owners. Here’s a simplified of what I ended up getting:
- New Rear Fender: I went with a shorter, chopped fender to show off more of that fat rear tire.
- Custom Seat: The stock seat was okay, but I wanted something lower and sleeker.I replaced one.
- Handlebars: I swapped out the stock bars for some drag bars to get that aggressive riding position.
- Exhaust: Gotta have that signature Harley rumble! I went with some aftermarket slip-ons that sound amazing.
- Air Intake: I chose a high-flow intake to give the engine a little extra breathing room.
- Mirrors: The oringal mirrors looked too large. I changed smaller mirrors.
The Wrenching
Now, I’m no professional mechanic, but I’m pretty handy with tools. I watched a ton of YouTube videos and took my time with each step.
It took me several weekends, a few busted knuckles, and a lot of cursing, but I got it all done. There were definitely moments where I thought I’d messed something up beyond repair, but I pushed through.

The hardest part? Probably the wiring for the new rear fender and lights. That took some serious patience and a lot of trial and * it is very hard to install the new seat.
The Result
But in the end, it was all worth it. Seeing the finished product, knowing that I built it, was an incredible feeling.
It’s exactly the look I was going for, and it rides like a dream. It’s loud, it’s mean, and it’s definitely * I have a custom harley breakout!
Next, maybe I’ll get the wheels painted… or maybe a new paint job altogether? The possibilities are endless!
