Okay, so the other day I was watching some motorcycle videos online, and it got me thinking, “Where are these things actually made?” I’m a big Honda fan, so I decided to dig into where Honda motorcycles are built.

My Little Investigation
I started with a simple search. Just typed in “where are Honda motorcycles built” and hit enter.
The first few results were pretty general, talking about Honda having factories all over the world. But I wanted specifics. So I kept scrolling.
I found some forum discussions, where people were debating this very topic! Some folks were saying most Hondas are made in Japan, others were saying Thailand, and some even mentioned the US.
I then stumbled upon some articles talking about Honda’s history.
- It was pretty cool finding out that Honda built their first overseas factory in Belgium way back in 1963.
- Then realized that Kumamoto Factory in Japan is a major hub.
I dug some more and started noticing a pattern. It seemed like different models were built in different places.

So, I tried to find info on specific models. I looked up where the Gold Wing is made, because, you know, that’s a classic. Turns out, they moved production of the Gold Wing back to Japan from the US a while ago!
What I’ve Concluded
I looked the other day and found Honda has manufacturing facilities in 22 countries and regions around the world. That’s a whole lotta countries!
So, basically, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. It depends on the specific model. Some are made in Japan, some in Thailand, some in other countries. Not as simple as I thought, but kinda cool to see how global the whole operation is. It’s not a simple “Made in…” sticker. It’s more like “Made in…several places!” It was fun process, even though it’s not rocket science!
