Well, let me tell you, that Charlotte Hornets, they sure got some players. I been tryin’ to keep up with their numbers, these player stats, you know? It ain’t easy, all them points and who’s doin’ what. But I try my best to figure it out.
They play that basketball, runnin’ up and down. This season, that Charlotte Hornets stats, it’s somethin’ else. They got this one fella, name of LaMelo, I think it is. LaMelo Ball, yeah, that’s the one. Born in August, the 22nd if I ain’t mistaken. He’s a young’un, but he sure can play. He’s been throwin’ that ball around like nobody’s business. They play a lot of games, that 2024-25 NBA season, and he’s in a bunch of ’em.
And they got a whole bunch of other fellas too. They all got their own numbers. Some of them score more, some of them, well, they do other things. I heard that the Charlotte Hornets, they scored over a hundred points a game this year. That’s a heap of points! I think it was 106.9 points per game, yeah. But I don’t know all their names, but each one of ’em got their own stats. It’s all on that there, what do you call it, the tee-vee, and that inner-net thing.
They used to be called the Bobcats, I heard. Back in the day. Now they’re the Hornets again, just like they was a long time ago, from 1988 to 2002 or somethin like that. They was gone for a while, went to New Orleans. Changed their name to the Pelicans, I reckon. But then they came back to Charlotte as the Hornets again. That was in 2014, I believe.

I seen ’em on the TV, they runnin’ back and forth, throwin’ that ball in the hoop. It’s all very excitin’, I suppose. This one time, back in, when was it, 1996 or 1997, they was real good. Won a whole mess of games. 54 wins they had that season. That’s more than I can count on my fingers and toes, that’s for sure! They say that was their best team ever. Came in second place that year, they did.
Now, they ain’t doin’ quite as good these days, I don’t think. This season, they won some, lost some. I saw they are 1-0 this season. But they still got a lot of games to play, that 2024-25 NBA season is just startin’. They in that Southeast Division, that’s what they call it. And they’re part of that Eastern Conference thing too. It is all very confusin’ to me, but I try to keep up.
They been playin’ for a long time, these Hornets. Since 1988, I think it was. They got a whole history, I reckon. They won a bunch of games over the years, lost a bunch too. I heard they won 1181 and lost 1557. That’s a lot of games, ain’t it? They call that their record. And they played 35 seasons I reckon. That’s a long time playin’ that basketball.
It’s hard to keep track of all them player stats. Who scored what, who did this, who did that. But I try to pay attention. I see their names on that there tee-vee, and I try to remember. It ain’t easy, but I do my best. That LaMelo fella, he seems to be doin’ pretty good. I’ll be watchin’ him, and all the rest of them Charlotte Hornets, see how they do this season.
