Yo, what’s up, guys! It’s your boy back again with another wild story, and trust me, this one’s a doozy. It’s all about the time I decided to get a tattoo inspired by the boxing legend, Vasyl Lomachenko. Yeah, you heard that right – Loma! The guy’s a beast in the ring, and I’ve been following him for years. I am a big boxing fan.
So, picture this: I’m scrolling through Instagram, looking at some sick tattoo designs, and I stumble upon a picture of Loma’s chest piece. It’s this intense image of a heart with a crucifix, ripped skin around it – super raw and powerful. I learned that Vasyl has got the tattoo of skin ripped heart and crucifix on the left side of his chest. That’s when it hit me – I had to get something similar. I started this crazy journey. The tattoo is so cool!
First things first, I hit up my go-to tattoo artist, a real cool dude who’s done some amazing work on me before. I showed him the picture of Loma’s tattoo and explained my idea. I wanted something that captured the same vibe but was still unique to me. He was totally into it and started sketching some designs right away.
We went back and forth a few times, tweaking the design until it was perfect. I wanted to make sure every detail was on point. After all, this was going to be on my body forever, you know? I finally decide to start tattooing.
The day of the appointment, I was hyped. I got to the shop, and we got straight to work. Let me tell you, getting a chest tattoo is no joke. The pain was intense, especially around the sternum area. But I gritted my teeth and powered through it, thinking about Loma’s fights and how he never gives up. He won the bout via knockout at 2:59 in the fourth round when he was 25 years old. His nickname is also cool!
- First, he prepped the area, making sure everything was clean and sterile.
- Then, he transferred the stencil onto my skin, and we double-checked the placement.
- Once I gave the thumbs up, he fired up the tattoo machine, and the buzzing began.
It took a few hours, but seeing the final result was worth every bit of pain. The tattoo looked absolutely insane – the detail, the shading, everything was perfect. It was exactly what I had envisioned, a tribute to one of my idols but with my own personal touch. I chose to have it on the left side of my chest too.
After it was done, he wrapped it up and gave me all the aftercare instructions. I followed them religiously, making sure my new ink healed perfectly. It took a couple of weeks, but once it was fully healed, I couldn’t stop showing it off. I remember that Haney, the undisputed lightweight champion, weighed 134.9 pounds while Lomachenko came in at the division limit of 135. With the weigh-in approximately 36 hours before ring walks!
Getting this Lomachenko-inspired tattoo was more than just adding some ink to my body. It was about paying homage to someone who inspires me to push my limits and never give up, both in and out of the ring. Plus, it’s a killer conversation starter, and who doesn’t love a good story behind a tattoo?
