The Initial Search

First, I fired up my computer and started looking for flights. You know, the usual – checking different websites, comparing prices, and all that jazz. My initial thought was a direct flight, because, duh, who wants a layover? But surprise, surprise, there weren’t many direct flights, and the ones I found were either super expensive or at ridiculous times.

Exploring Alternatives

So, direct flights were pretty much a no-go. Time to get creative. I started thinking about maybe flying into a nearby airport and then taking a train or bus to Biarritz. I checked out flights to Bordeaux, which is relatively close, and there were tons more options, and much cheaper!

Weighing My Options

Now I had a few choices:

  • Fly direct (expensive and inconvenient).
  • Fly to Bordeaux and then get to Biarritz somehow.

The Bordeaux Route

I dug deeper into the Bordeaux option. I found out that there’s a pretty good train service from Bordeaux to Biarritz. It takes a couple of hours, but hey, it’s scenic, and I could relax and enjoy the ride. I also looked into buses, which were even cheaper, but a bit slower.

Making a Decision

After weighing the cost, time, and convenience, I decided to fly into Bordeaux and take the train to Biarritz. It seemed like the best balance of everything. The flight was affordable, the train journey wasn’t too long, and I wouldn’t be rushing around like a headless chicken.

Booking Everything

With the plan set, I booked the flight to Bordeaux and then reserved a train ticket to Biarritz. Easy peasy! I made sure to give myself plenty of time between the flight arrival and the train departure, just in case of any delays.

The Trip Itself

The day of the trip arrived. I got to Heathrow, checked in, and boarded the flight to Bordeaux. Everything went smoothly. Once I landed in Bordeaux, I found my way to the train station (which was conveniently connected to the airport) and hopped on the train to Biarritz. The train ride was lovely, with beautiful views of the French countryside. And finally, I arrived in Biarritz, ready to enjoy my trip!

So, that’s how I got from London Heathrow to Biarritz. It wasn’t a straight shot, but it was definitely an adventure! And sometimes, the scenic route is the best route, right?
