Okay, so I wanted to make a fun little project with the Peanuts characters doing their iconic dance. You know, the one from the Charlie Brown Christmas special? I figured it would be a cool thing to try and recreate.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find some good reference images. I did a quick search for “charlie brown dancing characters” and “peanuts dance gif”. I found a bunch of pictures and GIFs of the different characters doing their little boogie.
Figuring Out the Moves
I watched the dance scene a few times to really get a feel for each character’s moves.
- Charlie Brown does his classic head-bob-and-shoulder-shimmy.
- Linus has that smooth little side-to-side sway.
- Sally hops up and down, real simple.
- Schroeder is mostly just focused on the piano, a little sway.
- Lucy of course has her own sassy shoulder shake.
- Pig-Pen is surprisingly energetic for a kid covered in dust.
It’s all pretty basic, but it’s the little differences that make it so charming.
Putting It All Together
I had to make a plan. I don’t want to write programs, so I thought about how to show it.

So I tried to find the best way to present, maybe in the future, I could turn this into a small animation, It’s not very hard, and just use these GIFs I found, and it looks pretty good!
The Result
It turned out pretty much exactly how I pictured it! Seeing all those Peanuts characters doing their dance just makes me happy. It’s such a classic, feel-good * was a fun little project, and it didn’t take too long to do. Might try something similar with other cartoon characters in the future!
