So last night I totally missed the Celtics game against the Sixers cause my kid had a fever. Around midnight when things calmed down, I remembered to check the score. Grabbed my laptop still wearing pajamas.
First thing, I googled “celtics 76ers final score tonight” on my phone. But half the results were paywalled or showed ads bigger than the actual score. Got annoyed and switched to my old desktop.
Next tried opening my usual sports apps. One hadn’t updated yet, another kept crashing when I clicked highlights. Almost threw my mouse but remembered Twitter usually has fans posting stuff instantly. Scrolled through my feed and bam – saw some dude’s tweet with the exact final score.
Checked ESPN and Yahoo Sports for backup confirmation. Took screenshots of both sites showing the same numbers to be extra sure. Then spent 20 minutes watching mini replay clips people uploaded on random forums.
Final score was 101-98 Celtics by the way. Tatum dropped 31 points which sounds crazy but highlights showed like 4 airballs too. Wild finish with that 76ers rookie getting blocked last second.
Morning coffee time I typed up my notes: wrote how Embiid choked in fourth quarter again, how that new Celtics guard got 8 assists off the bench. Added timestamps of key plays so I remember for next podcast recording. Saved everything in my “Game Stats” folder like always.
Funny thing is my wife asked “why not just text Dave?” Cause Dave always spoils the outcome before highlights! Learned that lesson during playoffs last year when he ruined Jayson Tatum’s buzzer-beater for me.
Now my files ready for Thursday’s deep-dive thread. Might add that clip of Marcus Smart’s steal around minute seven – pure robbery man.
