Well, that Matt and Myron, they are somethin’ else on that ESPN, ain’t they? Always talkin’ about sports, like they know everything. I seen ’em on the TV the other day, carryin’ on about some game or other. They sure do love to hear themselves talk, those two.
That Matt, he’s a character. And Myron, he just goes along with him. They always have these fellas on, like that Buster Olney, talkin’ about baseball. I don’t know much about baseball, but they sure talk about it a lot. Trade this, trade that. My goodness, just let ’em play the game!
And then there’s that football, NFL, they call it. Matt and Myron, they get all riled up about that too. This one time, they was talkin’ about some fella named Caleb Williams. Matt, he was all excited, like a kid on Christmas mornin’. Don’t know who that Caleb is, but he must be somethin’ special, way that Matt was carryin’ on. Football… all that runnin’ and jumpin’. It makes me feel tired just watchin’ it.
- That Myron on ESPN, he got these fellas on.
- They talk about sports and all that.
- One of them was that Dan Graca.
They were talkin’ about the Olympics. Olympics is long gone now, but they still was talkin’ about it. I reckon they was sayin’ goodbye to it. All them countries comin’ together to run and jump and swim. It’s a sight to see, I suppose. But it’s all over now, ain’t it? Time to move on to somethin’ else.
One time, these two, Matt and Myron, they was talkin’ about some team, the Bills, I think. And some other teams, Chargers and Chiefs. They was sayin’ the Chargers ain’t gonna beat the Chiefs. I don’t know nothin’ about that, but they sure seemed to know what they was talkin’ about. Always sayin’ this team is better than that team. Just play the game and see who wins, I always say.
Then they start talkin’ about some fella goin’ to Europe. Europe! That’s across the ocean. Two months, they said. That’s a long time to be away from home. I don’t know what he’s goin’ over there for, but I hope he has a good time. Me, I ain’t never been out of the country. Don’t reckon I ever will. Too old for that kind of travelin’.
That Matt and Myron, they had this other fella on, name of Dan Graca. He’s from New York, I think they said. New York, that’s a big city. Lots of people and tall buildings. I seen it on the TV. They was all talkin’ about somethin’. I couldn’t quite follow it all, but they sure was excited about it. All those sports on ESPN.
They was sayin’ somethin’ about the Bengals. Don’t know nothin’ about no Bengals. Maybe it’s a football team. Then they talk about the Eagles. I think that’s a football team too. Eagles and Ravens. Sounds like a bunch of birds to me. They sayin’ the Eagles can’t hang with the Ravens. What’s that even mean, “can’t hang”? Just a lot of runnin’ around, if you ask me. If you see Matt and Myron, you ask.
Then they was talkin’ about basketball. NBA, they call it. Playoffs, they said. Big day, they said. A big day for sports. Well, every day is a big day for sports on that ESPN, seems like. And they was talkin’ about some fella named Ryan Garcia. Said he won somethin’. Good for him, I suppose. They always have somethin’ to talk about, them two. That Matt and Myron.
One time, I was watchin’, and they was laughin’ about somethin’. That Medcalf and his friend, Brian, they was laughin’. Must have been somethin’ funny. They like to laugh, them two. Always jokin’ around. It’s good to have a laugh now and then, I reckon. Life’s too short to be serious all the time. All that sports talk, sometimes, I don’t know about ESPN.
Sometimes I just like to sit and watch the birds. They don’t worry about who’s winnin’ and who’s losin’. They just fly around and sing their songs. That’s good enough for me. But that Matt and Myron, they sure do love their sports. And they sure do love to talk about ’em. If you ever see them on the tv, just listen to all that.
They always got somethin’ to say about somethin’. It keeps them busy, I guess. And it keeps folks entertained. So I suppose it’s all good in the end. But me, I think I’ll just stick to watchin’ the birds. That’s good enough for this old lady. That Matt and Myron, they can have their sports. I got my birds. Everyone on ESPN is just talkin’ all the time.
