So, I got really into watching the Canada Women’s Rugby 7s team lately. I didn’t know much about rugby sevens before, but man, it’s exciting! I started by just watching some games.
Getting Started
First I wanted to know, what is a “7s”? Then I learned that it means there are games played with seven players per side instead of the usual 15. That makes for a much faster, more wide-open game. Shorter halves, too – only seven minutes each, with a short break in between. Crazy!
I started digging around to find out where I could watch the games.
Finding the Games
I opened a website and started to figure out where to watch the games.
- Watched old matches. Man, those women are tough! So many big hits and incredible sprints.
- Learned the basic rules. I still don’t get all the penalties, but I’m getting the hang of it. The scoring is pretty straightforward, though.
Deeper Dive
After watching a few games, I got curious about the players.
- Looked up some player profiles. Wow, some of these women have amazing stories! I was really impressed by their dedication and how they balance training with, you know, life.
- Started to read up on news to know the schedule.
I’m totally hooked now. I’m trying to figure out the strategies, like when they kick for territory versus trying to run it in. It’s way more complex than I thought. And the fitness level of these athletes? Unbelievable. They just run and run and run. I get tired just watching them!
I watched a couple of matches.
All in all, a great experience. I’m completely into Canada Women’s Rugby 7s, and I’ll continue to watch and learn about this.
