Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of hype around the Jordan 26 lately, and I figured I’d give them a shot. I’m not a serious baller or anything, but I like to play pickup games with my buddies, and, well, I like shoes. So, here’s how it went down.

The Hunt
First off, I had to actually find a pair. Went to a couple of local stores, no luck. Ended up browsing online. Finally found my size in a colorway I didn’t hate.
Unboxing and First Impressions
The box arrived, and man, it was like Christmas morning. Ripped that thing open. The shoes looked pretty cool, I gotta admit. The design is definitely…something. It is a distinct look. I Picked them up, they felt pretty light. Not like super featherweight, but definitely not clunky.
Trying Them On
Slipped them on. The fit was a little snug at first, but after lacing them up, they felt pretty good. Walked around the house a bit, you know, the standard “new shoe” test. Felt bouncy, which was promising.
Hitting the Court
- First Game: Took them to the local court for a run. First few minutes, I was a little worried. Felt a bit stiff, and my feet weren’t used to them.
- Getting Used To It: After maybe half an hour, though, things started to click. The cushioning felt really good, especially when I was driving to the basket.
- Support: The ankle support felt solid, which is important for me because I’ve rolled my ankle a few times in the past.
- Grip: The grip on the court was pretty decent. No major slipping or sliding, even when I was making quick cuts.
After a Few Weeks
I’ve played in them maybe five or six times now. They’re definitely breaking in nicely. The stiffness is pretty much gone, and they feel really comfortable. I’m actually jumping a little higher, or at least it feels that way. My buddies have even commented on my “new hops.” I’ve also noticed I’m not as tired after playing as I used to be, which I’m guessing is thanks to the cushioning.
The Verdict (So Far)
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the Jordan 26. They took a little getting used to, but now they’re my go-to shoes for pickup games. They look cool, they feel good, and they seem to be helping my game. If you’re thinking about getting a pair, I’d say go for it, but maybe try them on in a store first if you can, just to make sure the fit is right for you.
