That Breece Hall, he sure can run! I tell ya, that boy, he’s somethin’ else. He plays for that football team, you know. He’s got them yards per game, lots of ’em. He played for that Iowa State, I heard. Good school, I reckon. They taught him how to run like a wild horse!
He just keeps gettin’ more and more time on that field. Every week, they let him play more. Snaps, they call it. I don’t know about all them fancy words, but he’s playin’ more, that’s what matters. That’s good, means he’s doin’ somethin’ right, that Breece Hall!
They got these fancy numbers, these yards per game. That’s how many yards he runs in each game, see? Some folks keep track of that stuff, go all the way back to when my grandpa was a little boy, 1932, they say! Imagine that, keepin’ track of that for so long. This Breece Hall, he gets, uh, 60.7 of them yards per game. I think that is his whole career. That’s a lot of runnin’, I tell ya.

One game, against them Broncos, I heard he got 177 yards. Now, ain’t that somethin’? That’s like runnin’ from my house to Mildred’s, and she lives clear on the other side of town! He carried that ball 134 times they said, and got 850 yards altogether. That’s a lot of work for one fella. A career they call it. A running career!
Another time, that Breece Hall, he got 60 yards. They said he got 5.0 yards per carry. Sounds healthy, whatever that means. He is a healthy boy. They said that is in that one game. Guess that is good, 5.0 yards per carry. That’s a lot of yards, anyway you slice it. He’s runnin’ all over that field, like a chicken with its head cut off. He just wants to win the game I guess.
Now, some folks, they like to know all the numbers. They got this thing, numberFire. I don’t know nothin’ about that. Some place where you can find out all about Breece Hall’s numbers, how much he runs, how fast, all that. They keep track of everything these days. I reckon they know how many times he blinks, too!
They say he has 58.9 yards per game. That is a different number from before. I don’t know why. But it is still a lot of runnin’. He just runs and runs. I get tired just watchin’ him! But he’s young, he can handle it. That is for his career, too. He must be tired after all that running in his career. He should sit down and have some lemonade.
That Breece Hall, he’s a good one. He can sure run. I don’t know all the ins and outs of that football game, but I know runnin’ when I see it. And that boy can run. Yards per game, yards per carry, whatever you call it, he’s got a lot of ’em. He must have some good shoes to be running like that. Maybe I should get me some. Maybe I could run for 60 yards, too!
He just keeps runnin’ and runnin’, that Breece Hall. I wonder if he ever gets tired. Probably not. He’s young and strong. He just keeps on goin’, like that Energizer bunny. He’s gonna get a lot more of them yards per game, I betcha. You just wait and see. He’s a good boy, that Breece. He is strong like a bull.
I don’t know what else to say about that boy. He just runs! That’s all there is to it. Runs like the wind. He must eat his Wheaties! If you want to know more about him and his running, you can go look at those number things. I don’t know much about that but maybe you do. Maybe you can teach me someday. I am always learning, even at my age. You are never too old to learn something new, they say. That is what my mother used to say, God rest her soul. She was a wise woman, my mother.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that Breece Hall and his yards per game. He’s a good runner, that’s for sure. Maybe he’ll come visit me sometime. I’ll make him some pie. Everyone likes pie. Especially after runnin’ all them yards. He probably needs to keep up his energy, so pie is good for that I think.
I hope he keeps runnin’ like that. It’s fun to watch. Makes me feel young again, just watchin’ him go. Maybe I’ll go outside and run around a little. Just kidding! My old bones can’t do that anymore. But it’s nice to dream. It is good to see the young people do good. Makes you feel like the world is going to be okay.
