Okay, so today I messed around with creating a couple of silly character profiles, “Brad” and “Chad.” I’ve seen these names used online a lot, so I figured, why not give it a shot and see what I could come up with. My goal was to create them through my experience and share my records.

Getting Started
First, I opened up a new document on my computer. Just a plain text file, nothing fancy. I started brainstorming some basic traits. You know, like what kind of guys are these two supposed to be? Stereotypes came to mind immediately, of course.
I write down some key words.
- Brad: kind, a little shy.
- Chad: super confident, maybe a bit of a show-off.
Building the Profiles
Next, I started fleshing things out. I gave Brad a bit of a backstory. Maybe he’s a really into something, practices a lot. I pictured him as the kind of guy who’s secretly really good at something. I keep adding the detail about Brad.
Then I moved on to Chad. I figured he’d be the opposite. Outgoing, loves attention, always talking about his latest whatever. I jotted down some notes about him always trying to one-up people.
I keep imaging Chad, to make him more vivid.
Adding Some Details
I started thinking about how these two might interact.
I wrote a little scene where Chad is boasting about something, and Brad just kind of quietly smiles, knowing he could probably do it better, but doesn’t feel the need to prove it. Just some simple interactions.
I add some fun details into their profiles.
I spent maybe an hour or so on this. I kept tweaking things, adding little details here and there.
It’s not perfect, it is just a very simple practice.
Final Touches and Realizations
Finally, I add and correct some key words to make them more reasonable.
Then I saved the document. I might come back to it later and add more, or maybe even turn it into something bigger. Who knows? I have my own “Brad” and “Chad” now.
I realized it would be a very interesting process, from plain text to a more vivid charater profiles.
It was a fun little exercise. Maybe I’ll try creating some more characters * shows my whole process about it.
