Alright, so I’ve been keeping an eye on the Boston Red Sox, right? And let me tell you, this 2024 season has been a total rollercoaster. I started watching more games after that crazy win against the Blue Jays. It was a 6-5 game that went into extra innings! Nail-biter, I swear.
After that game, I got curious and started digging around to see what their chances were for the Wild Card. I found some stuff online, you know, odds and all that. At first, it said they had a +178 chance to make it to the playoffs and -240 to miss it. Then it changed to +210 and -250. Honestly, I don’t get all those numbers, but it seemed like they were the underdogs.
I kept checking, I even started reading every article I could find about the Red Sox. It got to a point where I just knew they wouldn’t make it to the playoffs. It’s a bummer, yeah, but they had some good moments. That win against the Blue Jays? Kept them in the game for a while, mathematically speaking, I guess. They only had five games left after that, so it was a long shot.
