So, I’ve been seeing this name, Bob Lazier, pop up lately, and it got me curious. Turns out, this guy had a pretty interesting life. Born way back in 1938 in Minneapolis, he later packed up and moved to Colorado. That’s where things really started to happen for him.

He got into the building contractor business in Vail, and man, did he make a name for himself. Built all sorts of stuff, became a big deal in the area. I guess you could say he really built himself a good life there, piece by piece.
But that’s not all. He also tried his hand at racing. Not sure how successful he was at the top level, but hey, he gave it a shot! I always admire folks who aren’t afraid to chase different dreams.
Eventually, it seems like he decided to focus on his construction work. Probably a smart move, considering how well he was doing with it. You gotta know when to double down on your strengths, right?
- Born in Minneapolis (1938)
- Moved to Colorado
- Became a successful building contractor in Vail
- Had a go at racing
- Ultimately focused on his construction career
Later on, his two sons, Buddy and Jaques, got into racing themselves. Bob was always there, supporting them, giving advice. You can tell family was a big deal for him. It’s pretty cool to see how he passed on that passion to his kids. Buddy Lazier, born in 1967, went to become a racing driver.
A Full Life
Sadly, I read that Bob passed away in 2020 in Denver. Sounds like he lived a full life, though. From his building empire in Vail to his family and his racing days, he definitely left his mark. It’s always inspiring to learn about people who’ve made the most of their time, you know? Makes you think about your own journey and what you want to achieve.

Just wanted to share my little deep dive into Bob Lazier’s life. Hope you found it as interesting as I did!
