Okay, so I was just chilling yesterday morning, doing my usual coffee-and-phone scroll before work. Popped open Twitter, you know how it is, just seeing what’s buzzing. And bam, my zombie-loving eyes lit right up. Saw folks going nuts about a blurry screenshot someone grabbed from what looked like a developer’s screen share that went private way too slowly. Big red letters screaming something about the new map. My heart did a little jump. Time to dig.
First thing I did? Hit my usual hangouts hard. Jumped into Discord faster than a horde chasing brains. Went straight to the channels I trust for legit leaks, the ones with moderators who actually check stuff. Started scrolling like crazy, reading every new comment. People were pointing fingers at different dates flying around – some guy said October 1st, another swore it was October 15th. Absolute chaos, zero proof anywhere. Just endless keyboard bashing.

Didn’t stop folks from grabbing that “October” date and running wild with it though.
Got frustrated trying to find the source. Felt like chasing my tail. Went back to the places claiming insider info. Checked all their pinned messages, old posts, everything. Realized most of these “leak accounts” are total noise machines. They throw everything at the wall hoping something sticks so they look like geniuses later. My hype started to die down a bit. Real leak sources, the few times they pop up, usually aren’t shouting about it everywhere. They drop a tiny hint and vanish. This felt different, way too messy.
Sat back and looked at everything I’d found, piecing it together:

- The dates? All over the place. Nobody agreed. Felt like random guesses being passed around as fact.
- Old info? That texture analysis got me thinking. Could be recycled stuff presented as new.
- Leak accounts screaming? Big red flag for me. Real stuff usually drips out quietly first.
I think I know how all this went down. Someone found – or honestly, probably made – that fake screenshot. It looked kinda official enough to get attention. Then the hype train left the station, everyone jumped on board yelling dates they pulled out of thin air. Leak accounts desperate for clicks amplified it like crazy. My gut says forget October entirely. Based on how the last big Zombies map launched, they like that juicy holiday window. Big marketing pushes, trailers, the whole shebang needs time. Throwing it out in early October feels way too rushed. Late November or early December? That smells way more like their style. More time to build hype, less scrambling.
End of the day? I’m putting exactly zero dollars on those “October” leaks. Learned my lesson years ago pre-ordering based on early rumors. Feels like everyone got played this time. We’re all just zombies shuffling after the next rumor-bait, I guess. Should have known better than to trust a blurry screenshot!
