BO6 Skill Based Damage Explained: Get Better Now Fast

Alright, so I wanted to mess around with skill-based damage in Black Ops 6. I’d heard some chatter online, and figured I’d see what all the fuss was about myself. I’m not a pro or anything, just your average gamer who likes to tinker.

First thing I did was jump into a few regular matches. You know, just to get a feel for how things normally work. Played a bunch of different modes, used different weapons, the whole nine yards. Just wanted to establish a baseline, so I’d notice any differences later.

Then, I started paying real close attention to my engagements. How many shots did it usually take to down someone? How did that change at different ranges? Was there a noticeable difference between, say, a headshot and a body shot? Stuff like that. I even jotted down some notes – felt kinda nerdy, but hey, gotta be thorough, right?

Next, I started experimenting with different setups. I tried out various attachments, perks, and even different Specialists. The idea was to see if I could intentionally create situations where my skill (or lack thereof) would be the deciding factor. For instance, I’d try to force long-range engagements with a short-range weapon, just to see how much the damage dropped off.

  • Attachment Combos: Tried mixing suppressors with long barrels, high-caliber rounds with rapid fire – basically, anything that might significantly impact damage output.
  • Perk Play: Focused on perks that affected weapon handling, accuracy, or damage directly.
  • Specialist Shenanigans: Used Specialists with abilities that could either boost my own damage or hinder the enemy’s.

I spent hours just running around, getting into gunfights, and trying to analyze what was happening. It wasn’t always pretty. There were plenty of times I got absolutely melted, and other times where I felt like a god. The key was to try and figure out why those things were happening.

After a while I noticed a pattern and realize my skill is really effective to the damage, so I tried to control my skill to get more damage and finally I made it.

So, that’s my little deep dive into skill-based damage. It was a fun, albeit sometimes frustrating, experiment. I’m definitely going to keep messing around with it, and see if I can really refine my playstyle to take advantage of it. Or, you know, just get better at the game in general. That works too.
