Okay, so I wanted to spice up my desktop, you know, make it look less boring. I decided to mess around with “bg3 background goals” – basically, aiming for a cool Baldur’s Gate 3 themed background. Here’s how it went down:

First Steps: Finding the Right Image
First, I scoured the internet for some awesome BG3 screenshots or artwork. I checked out a few fan art sites and even some official game pages. I was looking for something that was both epic and kinda calming, if that makes sense. I didn’t want a super busy battle scene; I needed something I could stare at all day without getting a headache.
Getting the Resolution Right
After finding a few contenders, the next hurdle was the resolution. My monitor is pretty big, so I needed a high-resolution image. Nothing’s worse than a stretched-out, pixelated mess. I made sure to filter my searches for images that were at least 1920×1080, but ideally even bigger.
Testing and Tweaking
- I downloaded a few different images and set them as my background, one by one.
- Some looked great at first glance but were too distracting after a while.
- Others were too dark or the colors didn’t quite pop.
- It was a lot of trial and error!
The Final Result (For Now!)
Finally, I settled on this one image of a character, and I added some soft lighting in the background to set the mood. It’s not too busy, the colors are nice, and it just gives off the right vibe. I might switch it up again later, but for now, I’m pretty happy with it. My desktop feels a little more epic, and a little more me. I’m calling that a win!
