Getting Started
Okay, so last night I was chatting with footy mates about wild transfers, and Anelka to Liverpool came up. Felt like ages ago! Wondered if YouTube even had decent clips anymore. Figured, why not dig around, grab the best bits, and slap some thoughts together? Seemed simple enough. Fired up my laptop around coffee time this morning.

The Hunt Begins
First, I hit the usual spots:
- Typed “Anelka Liverpool goals” straight into YouTube.
- Scrolled past a bunch of garbage – shaky phone recordings from 2001, slideshows with terrible music.
- Found ONE proper clip with decent quality. Score! But it was way too long, like 15 minutes.
Chopping It Down
Nobody got time for that. Needed highlights, yeah? Pulled the clip into my basic video cutter app.
- Started skimming. Found that classic solo goal against Spurs first.
- Saved it right away. Then there was that tidy finish against Blackburn? Snip!
- Almost missed that cheeky assist for Owen – rewound like three times to catch it.
Took ages messing around with the cuts. Tried making smooth transitions between plays, ended up just leaving simple fades cause my edit skills are rough.
Adding My Two Cents
Just showing goals felt lazy. Paused the video at key moments:
- Wrote a quick line about Anelka’s weird swagger on the ball for the Spurs goal.
- For his celebration against Boro, pointed out how chilly he looked. That guy barely smiled!
- Added text saying stuff like “Loan move madness!” early on. Kept it super casual.
Watching It Back
Finally hit render, grabbed a biscuit while it chugged away. Played the final cut:

- Surprised how sharp some of those moves were? Forgot how technical he was.
- Laughed at my messy editing. That fade looked terrible!
- Realised the whole package felt a bit thrown together… but honest.
What Hit Me
Biggest takeaway? His time there was SO short, yet left proper memories. Scored crucial goals. Played different. That loan was pure chaos for Liverpool fans back then. Watching just these few minutes? Explains the hype… and why it all ended too soon. Proper “what if” player at Anfield. Anyway, slapped it up online earlier. Someone will probably roast my editing. Bring it on.
