My Hunt for a Colorado Rockies Cap
Alright, so I’d been needing a new baseball cap for a while. My old one was getting pretty beat up, you know how it goes. Started thinking about which team I wanted. Wasn’t really committed to any single team lately, just wanted something that looked good.
Saw someone wearing a Colorado Rockies cap the other day, the purple and black one. Looked sharp. Figured, why not? The mountains thing is cool too. So, the decision was made: Rockies it is.
Next step was actually getting one. Could’ve ordered online, easy enough these days. But sometimes you just want to see the thing, feel it, try it on right there. Decided to take a trip down to that big sporting goods store over by the highway. They usually have a decent selection.
Went there on a Tuesday afternoon, wasn’t too crowded. Headed straight for the hats section. They had a whole wall, tons of teams.
- Started scanning for the Rockies logo.
- Found a few different styles. Some fitted, some adjustable.
- Needed an adjustable one, my head size is kinda in-between sometimes.
Spotted the classic purple one with the black brim and the ‘CR’ logo embroidered on the front. Looked just like the one I’d seen. Picked it up. Felt pretty sturdy, good material.
Trying it on was the real test. Popped it on my head right there in the aisle. Looked in one of those little mirrors they have. Fit was good. Nice and snug, but not too tight. Adjusted the strap in the back a little. Yeah, this was the one.
Didn’t really need to look at any others after that. Took it up to the checkout counter. The cashier guy didn’t say much, just scanned it and bagged it. Pretty straightforward.
Walked out with my new Colorado Rockies cap. Felt good to have that little task done. Wore it on the drive home. It’s a solid cap, does the job, looks pretty decent too. Happy with how that turned out. Just a simple thing, getting a hat, but sometimes it’s nice when it just works out easy like that.
