Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole Belgium World Cup squad thing. It all started when I got curious about who Belgium was bringing to the big games. I mean, they’re always a team to watch, right?

So, the first thing I did was hit up the internet. I just typed in “Belgium World Cup squad” into the search bar, just to see what would pop up. A bunch of stuff came up, but nothing too concrete at first.
Then I started digging a little deeper. I found a few articles talking about their past squads, like back in 2014 and all the way up to 2022. It was cool to see some familiar names, like Courtois, Vertonghen, and Carrasco. These guys have been around for a while, so I figured they’d be important.
After that, I stumbled upon some news about their recent Nations League match against Italy. They lost, sadly, which meant no quarter-finals for them next year. But it got me thinking about who they might actually bring to the World Cup, especially after a setback like that.
I then found a list of players they were considering for some international matches in March. It was split into defenders and midfielders. Some of the names that caught my eye were Vertonghen again (he’s a defender, by the way), Tielemans (a midfielder), and a few others I hadn’t heard of before, like this De Winter guy and someone called Vermeeren.
Then I went down a bit of a rabbit hole, looking at different websites that track this kind of thing. One of them even had details on how many minutes each player had played in past World Cups, which was kind of neat to see.

Finally, I found what I was looking for – their actual, official squad list for the 2022 World Cup! It was announced by some guy named Dan Burke on some football site. They had 26 players listed, and it was cool to see who made the cut. I also discovered where they made the announcement – some place called Tubize, at the headquarters of their football association.
They had their goalkeepers listed too, with Courtois from Real Madrid and Mignolet from Club Brugge. I recognized those names from before, so that was a good sign.

So yeah, that’s basically how I spent my day – diving into the world of Belgian football. It was a fun little adventure, and I learned a lot more about their team than I expected. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start following them more closely now!
