Alright folks, buckle up because today I wanna walk you through my time at Arcadian Shores Golf Club down in Myrtle Beach. Heard a lot of hype, decided to see if it lived up. Spoiler: mostly yes!
Getting Started Early
Woke up stupid early, like 5:30 AM early. Why? ‘Cause everyone says this place gets packed. Drove over to the club, sky just starting to lighten up. Already smelled like fresh cut grass, good sign. Check-in was smooth – guy at the counter, super laid-back, just handed me the scorecard and pointed towards the first tee. Didn’t mess around.
First Impressions Hit Hard
First thing you notice walking out? The fairways. Man, they looked pristine. Like someone vacuumed ’em clean. Grass was that perfect green, thick but not spongy. Put my bag down near the first tee box, took a practice swing… felt good. Nervous energy, you know?
The Real Deal On The Course
Alright, teed off on hole one. Nice wide fairway, welcoming. Felt like easing me in. But don’t get fooled – this course has teeth.
- Hole 4: Dogleg left. Trees right side lookin’ hungry for balls. I tried cutting the corner. Big mistake. Ended up punching out. Felt that sting.
- Hole 7: Par 3 over water. Wind picked up right as I addressed the ball. Nerves kicked in. Pushed it right, splash! Dropped another, chunked it short. Yeah, took my lumps. Sand traps here? Looked nasty, but the sand was actually fluffy, easy to hit out of. Weirdly forgiving.
- Hole 15: Long par 5. Stretches forever. Had to really crank the driver twice. Felt like I earned that par. Views here? Stunning. Lakes shimmering, old pine trees standing guard. Made me pause.
Greens Were Sneaky Fast
Let me tell you about the greens. Smooth. Like putting on glass. But quick! Tapped a putt on hole 9 thinking it was a gimme… rolled five feet past. Oops. Learned fast – needed a softer touch. By the back nine, started reading the breaks better. Felt smart for once.
Finishing Up & Grabbing Bites
Finished around hole 18, totally worn out but buzzing. Sun was high, sweat pouring. Headed straight for the clubhouse. Grabbed a cold drink – tasted amazing. Big burger too. Messy, juicy, just what I needed. Sat on their patio, looked back at the course. Could see why people rave about the scenery. Peaceful.

So, summing it up? The layout keeps you honest – water, bunkers, trees messing with you. Course maintenance? Top-notch, seriously, fairways felt like carpet. Staff weren’t pretentious, just friendly folks happy you showed up. Price? Hey, it’s Myrtle Beach, wasn’t cheap but felt worth it for the condition. It’s got that classic vibe without being stuffy.
