Okay, so I finally got around to trying Andy Pages Fantasy the other day. Heard some buzz, figured I’d see what the fuss was about. Truth? Felt totally lost clicking around at first. Figured I’d jot down the mess for any other newbs thinking about jumping in.

Just Making an Account Was a Thing
Went to the site, saw the big shiny sign-up button. Cool. Put in my email, made a password – nothing crazy yet. Then BAM. Verification email takes forever, seriously. Checked spam folder twice, almost gave up. Finally pops up an hour later. Clicked the link, felt like I’d run a marathon already.
Then, it asked me to pick some stupid “starting persona” or whatever. Like, ten options of cartoon avatars and themes. “Fantasy Explorer”? “Sci-Fi Sleuth”? Man, I just wanna see the dang tool! Picked the wizard one randomly ’cause the hat looked kinda cool. Felt silly.
Where the Heck Do I Start?
Okay, finally in. Screen’s loaded with stuff. Panels here, buttons there, weird icons everywhere. Zero clue what to actually do. Saw a button that said “Create Realm” or something. Clicked it. Asked me for a “Realm Title”. Okay, typed in “My Test Place”. Then another field called “Realm Seed”. Huh? No tooltip, nothing. Just blank. Left it empty ’cause I had no idea. Clicked “Generate”.
Screen does this little spinny thing for a bit… then pops up this page with paragraphs about some made-up kingdom I didn’t ask for. Full of elf names and mountain ranges. Like, whoa. Didn’t expect that. It was… generated? Weird. Text looked okay, I guess, but had nothing to do with me just wanting a blank page.
Trying to Actually Make Something Simple
Right, forget that “Realm” nonsense. Looked for something like “New Page” or “New Doc”. Found a tiny “Page” icon. Clicked it. Finally! A blank text area. Typed “Hello World”. Basic, right? Looked boring. Wanted to make it bold.

Highlighted “Hello World”, looked for a bold button. Not one. Seriously? Menu bar was weird icons only. Hovered over stuff. Found a “Format” menu. Opened it, saw “Style”. Under that… “Strong”? “Emphasis”? Picked “Strong”. “Hello World” got bolder. Okay, finally. Why couldn’t it just say “Bold”? Annoying.
Stumbling On World Stuff Again
Remembered the weird kingdom it made before. Saw a button somewhere called “World Guide” or similar. Curiosity killed the cat. Clicked it. Now it shows all these generated entries related to that kingdom – locations, characters. One section said “Add New Element”. Clicked that. Asked me what type: “Character”, “Location”, “Item”. Picked “Character”. Typed “Bob the Farmer”. Hit “Generate”.
Bam! Like five paragraphs about Bob, his family history, his muddy boots, his secret dream of joining the circus. Again, way more than I expected. Kinda neat, honestly. But… where does this live? Is it saved? Is it just floating around?
Panicking About Saving (Or Not?)
Realized I haven’t seen a save button anywhere. Checked every menu. Nothing. Typed more test text on my “Hello World” page. Closed the tab. Heart skipped a beat. Opened Andy Pages Fantasy again in a panic. Logged back in.
Thank god, my “Hello World” page was there! And Bob the Farmer! Apparently it just saves constantly? Or after every change? No idea. No feedback. Should probably say something like “Auto-saving…” to stop rookies like me having a heart attack.

So, After a Few Hours of Poking…
- The Auto-Gen is Powerful, But Strange: It pulls stuff out of thin air. Fast. Good for ideas maybe? But feels unpredictable.
- Organization is Confusing: Where did “Bob” go after I created him? Found him eventually under the “World Guide” stuff related to that first kingdom. Felt messy.
- Basic Text Stuff is Buried: Want bold? Italic? Gotta hunt through menus named weird stuff.
- Saving is Silent: It seems to save, but never tells you. Nerve-wracking!
- Way Too Many Features Out the Gate: Thrown into deep end with world-building crap before I even know how to write a paragraph.
My current status? Still kinda scratching my head. Got a page with bold text, cool. Got a randomly generated kingdom and a farmer named Bob living in it, weird. Not sure I actually built anything yet. Gonna try putting Bob into a scene on my page next time… maybe. If I can find the page I made him on.
Bottom line for new folks: Expect to be confused. Click everything. Expect it to generate way more text than you asked for. And pray it saved. It probably did. Maybe.
