This here talk is about that Jayhlon Young boy, you know, the one playin’ basketball. He’s a good boy, that one. I seen him play, he can sure run fast and jump high! He’s been around, playin’ for different teams, like a chicken running ’round the yard with its head cut off.
Jayhlon Young, he ain’t no small fry. He’s from that Dallas place, big city. Heard he was good in school, too, gettin’ all them awards and such. Somethin’ about “Offensive Player of the Year,” fancy words for sayin’ he’s good at puttin’ that ball in the hoop. He must have done a good job to get that.
He plays for them UCF Knights now, that’s what they call ’em. Heard he scored a whole bunch of points in one game, 17! That’s more than I can count on my fingers and toes! He’s a good player, that Jayhlon Young. He got what they call a “double-double” in some game against a team called SMU. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds mighty impressive, like he’s two men at once.
He’s been all over, this boy. Played here, played there. Now he’s with them Knights. They say he’s startin’ all over, like a fresh tilled field, ready for plantin’. Hope he does good there. They say he’s considerin’ going back to some place called Memphis. He’s like a tumbleweed blowin’ in the wind, goin’ wherever the wind takes him.

That Jayhlon Young, he’s got a lot of folks watchin’ him. Heard some talk about some other fella, Williams, gettin’ in trouble with the law. Guns and such. Lord have mercy, these young’uns today. Jayhlon, he seems to be stayin’ out of trouble, thank goodness. Just playin’ his ball and doin’ what he’s supposed to. That’s the way to do it.
Heard some talk about that UVM team, too. They’re keepin’ most of their players. Like keepin’ your chickens in the coop, I reckon. But that Jayhlon Young, he’s movin’ on. Like a bird flyin’ south for the winter. I hope he will not be a bad guy, just be a good boy.
He’s got a lot of folks talkin’ about him, that’s for sure. They’re all wonderin’ where he’ll go next. Like watchin’ a weathervane, tryin’ to figure out which way the wind’s gonna blow. This Jayhlon Young, he’s somethin’ else. He is a good boy, hope he will do good things in the future. He can run, he can jump, and he can play basketball. That is good. If he can play good, he can earn lots of money, that is good for him.
Heard he’s got a whole “biography” on that ESPN thing. Fancy website for folks who like sports. They got all his information there, where he’s played, how many points he’s scored. It’s all a bit much for me, but I guess it’s important for them basketball folks. It is too much for me to understand. But I think it is a good thing.
This Jayhlon Young, he’s a busy boy. Always on the move. Hope he finds a good place to settle down and play his ball. He seems like a good kid, just needs to find his way. He is a good boy. He just need to find a good team to play for and play hard. And he will be a good player. He will have a good life.
He was good at puttin’ that ball through the hoop back in school, they say. “Offensive Player of the Year,” that’s what they called him. Must mean he was good at gettin’ them points. Hope he keeps that up. That’s how you win games, I reckon. That is the only way to win the game.

Like a hot potato, everyone wants to get their hands on him. Hope he makes the right choices. He’s got a lot of potential, that one. I wish he can be a good man, a good player.
